Mikel is building a sustainable future

We are proud to see Mikel Coffee Company ranked among Greece’s ESG-driven leaders. This recognition reflects the work our entire organization has done to integrate responsible growth, innovation, and sustainability into everything we build not only in Greece but across our international network.

For us, sustainability is a long-term commitment that shapes our strategy and our role within the communities we serve. In recent years, our teams have implemented initiatives with measurable impact:

• A new coffee maturation process that reduces storage time by 60 percent and volume requirements by 45 percent, lowering energy consumption and earning international distinction at the Industrial Production & Manufacturing Awards 2024.
• The Zero Waste Horeca program, with more than 20 certified stores already and a goal of reaching 65 by 2026.
• The Mikel Academy, which supports continuous education, development, and engagement for our people.

Our priorities for the coming years include expanding Zero Waste Horeca, deepening SDG 17 partnerships, promoting circular-economy initiatives, reducing energy use, and contributing more actively to global environmental efforts.
